Love Hurts

Yesterday, we lost a sister.
We lost a friend.
I’m still not sure what to say or think about it. She was so awesome in so many ways. We met her in WoW, a month or two after we started playing. We were fast friends. Both her and D. Back on Lothar, they were in a guild with some friends, but we did a lot of things together.

She was there for my first ding to 60. The Giddglet. Boomkin bookends.

She loved to dance. When we finally made the move from Lothar to Drenden, she and D and a few others came with us. We created a new Aetherial Circle, friends who played together, with lofty hopes of raiding together someday.
And raid we did…

First, gotta get your Kara key.
Then raid some Karazhan.

Lots of Karazhan.
Then some Gruul’s. What can we say? We’re a very druid friendly place <3
Which lead us to SSC pwnage. Mooo…
To now, when we’re chargin’ down Vashj’s door.
___
She’s gone now. And it hurts. In this day and age where friendships can be made across vast distances, some people may think that our sorrow isn’t as real as if we knew her in real life. But that’s just it, we DID know her. The game was just the bar, the club, the meeting place. In the fall, we’re having a BBQ for AC, people are going to gather to meet in person and shoot the shit for a weekend. She was looking forward to it, and excited to be there.
There’s gonna be an empty spot at the table now.
And it hurts.
We’re gonna miss you Tara. So much…

Vashj, even though she’s the “easier” of the two (Vashj/Kael), still sucks. But getting her past phase 2 and down to 38% did feel awesome ^.^
Rage Winterchill is a joke. He went down fast and easy.
We’re raiding tier 6 content. Never thought I’d see that day. Happy be me!
Jas and I have a vacation coming up. Next week we won’t get to raid. I’m hoping things are ok while we’re gone, but ZOMG I can’t wait to see the DCoE, Doom and Immy!
Patch 2.4.2 is coming, and just glancing at it, the PvP arena changes look heaven sent. I’m tired of my poor 1400 shadow priest getting nailed over and over again by the two guys in S3 gear who are just farming points.
Void Shatter = no CD? SWEET!
Sheeping from a mob won’t get me back health? You’re joking, right? Might as well tell guilds to say TO BAD for Aran, and this will also make Iksiss a bit bitchier in heroic Sethekk Halls.
*gigglesnort* Escort Quest looks like it’s getting a buff.
Yay! They’re fixing Void Reaver! /cheer
You know… “Battlecast’s Garb should now properly grant pushback resistance in addition to interrupt resistance.” This makes me wonder. My poor Rakzha’s been broken this whole time? T.T
“The dragons in Blade’s Edge Mountains will no longer instantly knock you off your mount.” HALEEFREAKINGLUYA! /grumble
“Female Draenei horns will now correctly protrude through certain plate helms.” This was a bug? Oo
“The Vengeful Gladiator’s Rifle will now play the proper sound when used.” Hahahaha, what was it, Squeaking? XD No no, it was making baby gurgles.
Yay they’re fixing my shield! You have no idea how badly it’s bugged me that the sound for Power Word Shield has sounded like a freaking Hammer of Wrath since 2.4.
OK so most of the randomness came from me perusing the 2.4.2 patch notes XD Always fun to keep a running documentary up. I will have a post for Friday, but next weeks posts will be sketchy at best. A much needed vacation is coming up for the two of us. Hopefully by the time we get back, things will look brighter IRL.
So I had something to write…

Guild Whoas and Woes
April 19, 2008 on 10:09 am | In Aetherial Circle, Raid Stuff | 3 Comments
Today’s post is gonna be one of those weirdly impromptu ones, where I sneak in time between work to write a tid bit.
Yesterday’s scheduled post ended up not happening because I’ve been working all week and haven’t had a chance to unload in all my thoughts onto Fio, so he can come back and edit this one with his own two cents (HINT) later ^.^
For now, a little bit of Whoa:
A’lar! Dead! We did it on Monday and frankly, we would have done it last week but bugginess said noooooooooo and we were DENIED our first kill. Well, no more. That makes us 3/4 TK and 5/6 in SSC. Huzzah!
Guild Woe: We lost one of our core healers on Wednesday. Now I’m of mixed thoughts on the subject. On the one hand, I can understand the desire to do more raiding. We only raid three times a week, Monday/Wed/And Sunday for about 3 hours that time. We have a smattering of other raid type things going on during the week, Kara runs, now ZA runs and the PuG Gruuls or Maggys, but the srs content, the progression content was on those three days.
So, off this person goes to raid some more, which ok, I can understand… but it still kinda hurts. Because as much as they professed to loving the guild… we never ever hid the fact that we were a casual raiding guild. Ever. This raider started out raiding only once or twice a week, but slowly and steadily worked their way into our core. Dependable, always on time, repaired and fully reagented and repaired… they will be missed. But still… it’s gonna be tough to try and replace them, especially now that we’re working on Vashj and soon to be Kael. /shrug But we’ll manage I guess. It was just… not something that we expected, and with all our Real Life crap, I know I’m slightly off kilter to have this affect me more than it should.
Guild Whoa: We did a 5 clear of SSC in one night! HUZZAH! That means Vashj all night Sunday! Here’s hoping we can get her to Phase three! Now that the SSO badge vender is up, it’s HIGHLY doable! So far our biggest problem is the Strider, but this week we’re gonna have one warlock with us and a new shadow priest, so … MOAR DOTS!
Woe: Our awesome of awesome warlock Leo tank burned out. /pout And that just sucks butt. Because while I found his Hellfiring if there was a possible wipe ways annoying as hell, he is otherwise a fun guy and a great raider. He shall be missed T.T
Whoa: Mount Hyjal on Monday. You heard meh. When our Raid Leader of awesome said if we can clear A’lar and get to the 3/4 and 5/6 in both the T5 content, we’re gonna try our hand at the joke that is Rage Winterchill.
Color me UBER EXCITED! From what I’ve read and heard so far, MH is pretty much like a 25 man version of Black Morass…. UG. But still, looks interesting. I’m playing Warcraft 3 so I can understand all this LORE! I love the lore in this game, hence why I and a friend are trying our hands at this whole RP thing… though I’m a bit out of my comfort zone because we’re horde but hey! You can’t grow if you don’t challenge yourself! ^.^
Woe: Drama. Capital D. I hates it. Wish there was an easy way around it, but there never is. I’ve been gaming for 7 years now, and doesn’t matter what the medium, it’s always there. The common denominator is as people. Where there is people, there is drama. /sigh
Whoa: We got two new recruits on Thursday and Friday. A new Shadow Priest and a new Holy Priest! /dance Both are pretty awesome people, both know their stuff. We had an impromptu Maggie’s scheduled Thursday, just to see how bad he was nerfed since 2.4 and we brought both new recruits on to see how they’d do…
Omg… Oh. Em. Gee! They nerfed Maggie BIG TIME! Like, I swear we didn’t need the 25 people there! It was amazing. We had only downed Maggie once before the patch and it was rough… timing the clickers, making sure they all stayed alive, making sure Celli stayed alive… it was hard core. Now he’s a loot pinata. Srsly. He’s also lucrative enough to kill each week, with all the goodies he drops. So another thing to consider XD
So yea, my week in a nut shell. Mostly good, some bad, but there it is ^.^
Oh, and saying hi to Dammerung last night made my night! Eventually I’ll catch B quad!
PS: Picture courtesy of WoWhead… cause Cay got a Hatchling last night! /squee!

Challenge Complete!
April 14, 2008 on 11:08 am | In alts | 4 CommentsSo yea, remember Friday I talked about a certain challenge with a certain priest who was 30 and I was 25 and I had 24 hours?
I did it! With a little (ok, a metric butt ton of) help from Fio. We did 5 levels in 8 hours. It was nuts! He basically killed stuff, I turned in the quests for XP, and viola levels!
We started the whole thing over at VC, aka the Deadmines, cause I was silly and had never finished my VC questie there. I needed to so I could get the Stockades questie, and then from VC we’d head over to Stocks and pwn some silly rebellious prisoners.
See? Silly prisoners…
So, after pwning those newbs, came out side and talked to this guy, who then said, “Hey you’re level 26 now! Get out of here!”
Dude I leveled! You’d think the Capitan would he happy…
Anywho, we left the whiner and headed over to Redridge, which while I was swimming to drop of that Curse of Stalvan thingie… I had to giggle.

Jaw’s ain’t got nuffin’ on mah Blade!
I was getting so much XP from these quests though that during our purging of the stupid (and smelly) Blackrock orcs, I dinged 27.
Nothing to see here guys… ignore the big glowy aura I had two seconds ago, K?
Once the orcs in the keep were sufficiently humbled by my (read: Fio’s) awesomeness, we went to kick some Orcish Champion tail and met this pally a long the way. She needed Champions too, and while inside we both wanted to let out the very hurt and therefor walking at a slow pace Corporal Keeshan.

She was thankful and then went on her merry way once the Corp was in the clear.
Once that was done, time to head back to the inn, get smashed, finish a quest or three and then head on over to Duskwood while I’m still buzzed. It was time to start killing Worgens ^.^
They make purdy art.
Lots of dead worgen, tons of re-dead skeletons, liquefied ghouls and a Mor’Ladim later, and I dinged 28 in time to give Mor’s daughter’s ring back to him. Huzzah!

Ok, now that you got that ring, and I have your sword, can ya stop killing the newbs in the grave yard? Please?
So, more killings, more quests turned in, and then the huge long ass running around in SW so everyone and their mother knows exactly what you did when, where and why, and I dinged 29! Which was apparently too much for Stormwind, cause the waterways parted…

Sea isn’t red, but that’s ok wif me!
Around this time, Fio was getting tired, and I did promise to run the Cow through some stuff, so we took a break. But it was still pretty awesome that by just finishing the quests as fast as possible, I got 4 levels on like almost 0 rested XP (I think I started with like 20% rested.)
Few hours later though and Sabby’s all like, well well well, 29 eh? Let’s go do GNOMER!
So we did. And I dragged the Fluffy Teady-Bear of BOOM with us.

Note to self: Do not stand under the rocks when the gnome blows them up.
Once I learned my lesson the hard way (isn’t that how warriors like it?) we proceeded to run rampant through the gnome city, oh and every possible weapon that could drop in that place, did. So I now have a FREAKIN’ ARSENOL of toys! ^.^
Turning in all the questies to all those gnomes in Iron Forge is what dinged me, just in time for Sabby to see.
So yea, that was an awesomely fun time. Oh and to celebrate, Fio (he’s such a doll) got me my very own Azure whelpling! Now I know Squeake’s not going anywhere. This guy’s too cute!

On Pedestrian Concerns
April 11, 2008 on 11:08 am | In alts | 7 CommentsSo I’ve been spending some time with my cow warrior lately. Yes, his name is Randomcowjoke. Why? Because I got sick of seeing all the Taurens named “Quarterpounder” or “USDAPrime” or “MEAT.” So I figured I’d poke fun at them.
This is not my FIRST time mucking around with a horde toon, but it’s my first time leveling one in the Barrens. Leveling in the Barrens, for those of you who have yet to have the experience of doing so, goes something like this.
————
Questgiver: “Greetings, young warrior! We have a problem with harpies, northwest of here! Go clear some of them out for me!”
Me: “Sure, Mr. Orc!”
*Jog jog jog jog jog jog jog jog jog…jog jog…plod plod jog plod…plod plod…*
“Harpies!” *Thwack…thwack…thwack…thwack…thwack…*
“Phew, there we go!” *jog jog jog plod…jog jog plod plod trudge…plod plod plod jog trudge…”
Questgiver: “Good job young warrior! You show much dedication to the Horde! Now, you’ve taken out the rank and file, go take out some of their lieutenants!”
Me: “Oh. Uh, okay, I guess.”
*Jog plod plod plod trudge…plod plod trudge wheeze plod plod…trudge plod plod plod*
“Okay, only the ones with the rings this time. Sheesh.” *Thwack… thwack… thwack… thwack… thwack…*
“Okay…that’s six…rings…done now.”
*Plod plod plod trudge wheeze trudge…trudge trudge wheeze wheeze…plod trudge wheeze trudge…*
Questgiver: “You will someday be a great hero, Tauren, I can tell! Now, get back there and kill the harpy leader!”
Me: “You &#%&#*$%@#%@!!!!”

Challenge
April 11, 2008 on 8:25 am | In alts | 4 CommentsSo, the gauntlet has been thrown down. I have 24 hours to catch up to Sabbatine.

Oh and Sab? She’s level 30.
Think I can do it?
EDIT: ZOMG, I think I was still tired, leveling? Big picture? So many bad thingies! But! I will have a picture by picture update coming… soon… ish.
